My blogs will usually begin cold-turkey.
GET USED TO IT.
After a few attempts at organization, I finally managed to get a few friends together for a caffeine-drenched, testosterone-filled night/morning of Super Smash Brothers Brawl, in heartfelt celebration of its recent release.
This party held a special significance for me because my favorite character from Melee (Roy <33) had been ruthlessly cut by the domineering Nintendo crew. This part gave me a much appreciated opportunity to find my new fighting buddy.
Of course, just my luck that it be the character I resent the most: Marth. The very reason my favorite swordsman was cut! Unfortunately, he was the ONLY CHARACTER I was decent at. Tragic, I know.
I KNOW.
Wandering off topic: Busy, busy weekend.
This summer I have plans to go down to the New Jersey shore and stay there for the summer. Whew. Big plans. My grandparents have a beach house and they’re being gracious enough to allow me and my two sisters to stay down. Problem: I have to have a job. Gwuh.
Problem here is, as a 15-year old job offers are about as plentiful as hairs on McCain’s head. I’m hoping to get a nice calm job down at the library. Yeah, that will happen. I’ll probably end up stuck with a frantic, stressful job busing tables or patrolling the beaches for tags.
Anyway, this weekend the family’s headed down for a job-hunting session. Wish me luck. :/
Besides the job problem, it’s going to be a great time. If all goes well I’ll get hours from morning to afternoon. My intentions are to get up at 6-ish every morning, run 3-4 miles, go to work, return late afternoon, lift weights, write a quick blurb about my day, read from a pile of books I’m hoping to get from my Borders before I leave (and I intend to re-read some George Orwell and other classic books as well), watch some tube, then sleep. And we musn’t forget the all-important tanning on the weekends. The shore house is only 3 blocks from the ocean. Gotta love it.
One of few downsides of this trip is the terrifying lack of internet. The library is a good 30 blocks away, and I’m only going to have my bike as transportation. Boy, I’m gonna work for my interwebs.
Also, I’m going to experience heavy friend-withdrawal. I’m coming back maybe 4 or 5 times throughout the whole summer. One of those is going to be for Creation East, one of the most epic Christian music festivals on this earth. But enough about my summer.
This whole blog was pretty much just a way to get out of doing my homework tonight.
Wish me luck as I frantically complete it in the few hours I have remaining.
Next blog will probably concern: Tennis, the internet, careers, and aggravating adults.
Enjoy.
